Frugal Friday – Elegant Table Decor
Tweet!
Welcome to Frugal Friday! I have something really pretty
to share with you. I got the idea to make this Here
Thrifty Decor Chick did a great job with hers, and her photo’s are so
much better than mine, and well, basically she is a hard act to follow!
But I am thankful to her for the inspiration – you
should check out her blog for lots of great ideas.
So – I started out with and old mirror. I
have had it for a long time and don’t remember
what I paid for it. But the point is it wasn’t being used.
I began by sanding the wood to get the finish off.
Look at that!! It is my cute little french manicured hand
sanding away – aren’t you proud of me! But really, isn’t
it so much fun to create something and do it frugally?!
Anyway – then I got some Behr elegant white semi-gloss
and began painting it.
For some reason the paint looks darker in this
picture, but the paint is a really pretty creamy white.
The next thing I had to do was look around for
some candle holders to put on it. I had 4 little amber
goblets that I got for 25 cents each at the Thrift Store.
Aren’t they pretty! It is hard to tell here but
they are really small.
I had these two amber candle holders that
I got at Pier 1 a couple of years ago. It was
an after holiday clearance (love those!) and
I believe
I believe
they were under $5 each. And they looked great with
the goblets. So I put them on the tray/mirror, along
with a string of lights and some gold wired berry
and pine cone trim.
I added gold ribbon to help cover up the cord from
the lights – those drive me nuts!
Isn’t that pretty! I love sparkly stuff!!
It was evening when I took the pictures,
and I know it is harder to see – but hopefully you get the idea. Don’t you
just love what candlelight does to a room? And it always makes
a woman look lovely too – how can you go wrong with that!
I am really happy with it. I think I will Christmas it up after Thanksgiving
like Thrifty Decor Chick has done with hers.
And – I have an alternative to show you! I bought this glass hurricane
thingy at Dollar Tree – umm – it was a dollar…..
So I decided to try it in the center of my tray -
Isn’t that pretty?! It would look really good with three of those
down the center.
And guess what! If you don’t have a Dollar Tree in your town,
you can order from them online Here
So look around your house – if you don’t have an old mirror see
if you can find an old framed picture. You could paint the frame
replace the picture with some gold foil wrapping paper
that would reflect the candle light really well.
Thanks for letting me share my project – and please stop
in at these other sites to see more Frugal Friday ideas!

Lovely table display. You can't go wrong with using mirrors as trays. And I think the hurricane looks wonderful in it.

Love this! The reflections of the mirror and candles are so pretty. And the gold colors add warmth. My kind of centerpiece!

Wow, very nice – it really enhances the dining experience when you pay attention to details like this – who says you have to go to a fancy restaurant??
