It's beginning to look a lot like….

Have you ever noticed that when you are a child
it feels like Christmas takes forever to get here?
And when you are an adult it is here before you know it!
I felt like I got a late start on it, but
I did most of my Christmas decorating on Saturday –
It was so fun to look at all of the things I haven’t
seen for a year… Why do we have so many
things for something that we only leave
up about a month? Or maybe that’s just me!
I may just have to leave it up a little longer this year.

It is amazing how a greenery garland with lights
wrapped around it
can transform a mantle! Throw in some
pretty goblets, candles, and a couple of ornaments
and you have holiday décor!
I am not sure about the ribbon on these candles – too much?
I put the wreath on the front door – The old fashioned Santa is
an ornament I got at the Michaels after Christmas
sale a few years back. I haven’t put
the lights and greenery up around the outside of
the door yet – it was 12 degree’s here today!
I may be dedicated – but not stupid!

Here is my entryway table – I went quite lavish with it.
But hey – it’s Christmas right? It’s the one
time of the year that glitter, gold, and ruffles work!
Unless you happen to be a five year old at a ballet recital.

I am so in love with red! And fruit..
flowers… candles…. dishes…..its a long list.

And seriously – is there anything cuter than
a bowl and pitcher??

And then there is wrought iron – don’t even
get me started on wrought iron –
love.it.

mmmmm…. its iron, and someone wrought it ……..
Whats not to love!

All of the things you have seen here I have had for
a few years. I love to go out after Christmas
and find goodies at 75% off.
And the wrought iron, candle holders, and dishes
are things I use year round. I just “holiday’d” them up
I collected these houses over several years –
I love the miniature town! Why does everything
seem cuter in miniature? Especially chubby thighs……..

And speaking of chubby thighs -
I will be baking some Sugar Cookies this week to fill this snowman cookie jar.
Tune in to my Tasty Tuesday post this week for the recipe!

Here are a couple of my favorite
Longaberger Christmas baskets.
I put them out every year, filled with cider and cocoa packets.

I put together a simple centerpiece for my kitchen
table – look here to see the one I made for the dining table.

I still have more to do, but I am loving the feeling
of the house right now. It feels very warm and “Holiday” ish!
I also spent a lot of time making Christmas
gifts this weekend – I will have some fun and
thrifty craft ideas
to share with you soon!

Now I am off to get my cup of cocoa and sit by the tree!

Looks wonderful – warm and cozy. For the first time in several years I put up a tree, nativity, and wreath yesterday. I wouldn’t have done it but with an almost 3-year old in the house, I just HAD to get the stuff out. Marissa & Desi helped me haul it all in the house, put everything up and then clean up the mess we made. It isn’t anything fancy like yours but it’s still so much fun to watch the wonder of a child when they take it all in – no matter the age!
