Wednesday's Word – Progress
Last week I talked about how my Family Room was stuck in the 90′s – well, this weekend I began its
transformation! It is already 90% better! I still have lots to do but I will show you what a change the paint made.
Here is the old picture:
And this is it today;
Here is another old one
And here it is now
For some reason the paint looks a little yellowy in these pics, but it is actually a mocha brown.
I decided I wanted to have some white pottery and “stuff” up on the shelf above the built in bookshelves,
and as usual, I didn’t want to wait. I always want everything done right now – can anyone relate?
So, I checked out both Michaels and Goodwill and got some great stuff! The birdcage is from Michaels, with
40% off coupon of course! The rest is from Goodwill.
The birdcage was $9, everything else totaled $3!
I have one big craft project I am doing for one wall –
I can’t wait to show it to you! Still figuring out what to
put on the rest of the walls. I ordered curtain, so will be able to tell what I want more once those are up.
As is often the case – progress in one area can mean setbacks in another -
My spare bedroom now holds all the dated things I didn’t want to put back into the room-
Yikes! I am not getting rid of all of this stuff, some will be relocated, and some will probably
show up in future craft posts!
So – I would say progress has been made this week on my room makeover -
Be sure to check back and see the art project I am putting up in here – you will love it!

First of all, I second Melissa’s comment. Secondly, why are you not using that lovely Little People barn in your decor? Looks great though, I can’t wait to see the finished product!

It looks fabulous! I love the new color we did almost the same Mocha in our living room and I can’t believe how much it changed the look. Looks like a great place to curl up with a book!

Judging by everyone’s comments, I guess I’m the odd-ball. I sort of like the way it was before with the floral border. But that’s probably because I live vintage prints and Victorian stuff. They book look great though!
