Wednesday's Word – Unique
This is my granddaughter Joey-
She loves all things girl. Pink, ruffles, jewlery, dresses, etc. When she comes over to Grandma’s
house she begs me to let her look through my jewelry box and organize my rings by color.
(We share that love of jewelry!)
Joey is 6 years old – and a beautiful girl. And at age 6, she has already realized that
few people in the world have the same color of hair as she does.
Last night I was at her house and she came and jumped in my lap.
I was twirling a piece of her hair in my fingers and she whispered in my ear:
“It’s becoming more brown”
She already wants to be like everyone else. Why do we do that? God make each of us unique -
different – and we spend time and money trying to look like everyone else.
I don’t have the answer – even at my age I still struggle with it.
All I know is that I deeply love that little red haired girl, just like all my grandchildren,
because they are so amazingly special and unique. I bet God feels the same way about us.

Oh! It made me want to cry a little that she doesn’t like her luscious red hair. That color is to DIE for! I don’t know about blondes, but you can tell her that all brunettes secretly wish they were red-heads!!! Her curly hair is just gorgeous!

Precious girl! I am sure she will love her hair’s uniqueness later on. But I know what she means.

Melissa, her teeth will probably all fit with a little help! Don’t you just wish everyone’s teeth came in perfectly straight?? It sure didn’t happen in our family. But hey, that’s a simple thing to take care of – the girl is absolutely gorgeous! And her personality is alot of what makes her so beautiful! Grandma, I agree with you – you have amazing grandkids……..

Why DO we all do that? I know I struggle with that sometimes too. She is so precious. I’m sure she will come to appreciate her uniqueness, especially with such great role models in her life like you and Melissa.
