Frugal Friday -DIY Photo Decor
This week I want to show you a photo arrangement I have added to my Family Room.
The price was great! And it was super easy! Two of my very favorite things-
You may remember that last week I posted my Family Room redo reveal- you can see it here.
I neglected however, to post a picture of the TV wall. There was a reason for that!
It was bare! And by the way – just a disclaimer. I realize it would look better if the
TV was centered on the wall. However, the only heat vent in that room is located
right in the center of that wall… But in the summer I can center it!
So, I knew I wanted to put up some pics of my grandchildren. I decided to do black
and whites. I choose 3 pics from the ones I have taken of them (one of the pics was
given to me) and went online to Snapfish. I uploaded the photos and selected the 8×10 size.
Then I ordered them. There are a lot of sites like this, by the way, I just happen
to like this one. So each photo cost $2.99, and I had them within a week!
Then I went to Michaels and choose some very inexpensive black frames
that included an off-white matt. I was so excited to see that they were 1/2 off -
and ended up paying $5 apiece for them. So the total for each picture was $8.00.
Here they are all ready to go! So I figured out placement and put them up on the wall.
Oh man – that TV there is just going to bug me! I think I may need to get a black
shelf to put on the other size to at least somewhat balance things!
Anyway – here are some more shots.
The black and white photos with the same frames make this more
of an art piece on the wall. Also, the kids are growing so fast – I can
get a new pic every year to put in the same frames! And with another
grandchild on the way – dang I need to go get another frame!
I want to add some more word art to this wall, the way I did in my Living Room.
I really like what Sarah at Thrifty Decor Chick did with her
family picture arrangement. She gave me permission to post a pic of it here -
The words she has on the wall are “The best things in life aren’t things”
I love that! Especially with kids photo’s!
So there you have it – my do it yourself photo decor -with the most adorable grandkids ever!
I hope you enjoyed it, and as always – thanks for stopping by!

I love family photo walls! LOVE!! Looks great
I cannot wait to hang mine up. I feel like I should paint first but since I am such a slow poke maybe I’ll hang first, paint later.

Great photos. Beautiful kids. I did something similar on my landing and I also love that I can change it out. Hmmmmm that reminds me, it’s about that time again. I do agree though that anchoring it with a shelf or something else dark and ornamental would look nice. You have the eye. Nice work.

Really love these vinyl phrases and have used them on the backs of my “magazine” storage boxes. Have a great weekend!

Looks good! When I can reclaim my master bedroom, it is my plan to create a photo wall on the bedroom’s short hall wall. I too like the vinyl phrases. I think your idea of adding shelving to the right of the TV would help balance it out.

Sharyl, you crack me up because you worry about every little thing, just like me! I never thought anything about the TV not being in the middle of the wall. My daughter always tells me “Mom, you don’t have to be so matchy, matchy!” So, don’t sweat it, girl! You have a lovely home that is decorated so nice.
The grandbabies are beautiful…I’m a big fan of beautiful grandbabies (Aren’t they all beautiful?) I going to have my 4 grandbabies all weekend and next week (So excited!)
The frames look very nice. I want to do that on the wall going downstairs to our basement, because the wall is big and BARE!
See you tomorrow on WIWW
