Wednesday's Word – Shopping!
I have had a couple of great shopping trips this week! Two very different kinds
of shopping, but both fun! I have decided that shopping is a woman’s form of
hunting. (There may be some of you women hunters out there, and good for you!)
I love hunting out and bagging a good bargain!! And then I can never keep my mouth shut
if someone comments on it – I feel as if I come off sounding like poor white trash, I usually say something like
– “It was only $1.99 at the 75% off clearance sale at
Macy’s” or – “I walked through the mud and pulled it out of a garbage bin” Then I hoist up my suspenders and
spit chew out between my front teeth… That is about the time people look at
their watch, excuse themselves and
go talk to someone else at the party. Probably worried
that I am wearing underwear I swiped out of the neighbors garbage can…
Any – hoooo
Saturday I checked out a couple of thrift store, and then Monday I went to the
Habitat For Humanity outlet store (one of my faves!) I have once again filled up
the spare bedroom with *ahem* junk….
The chair and clock were 75% off – no really they were! Got them for around .40 cents each!
From the look on my husbands face when he carried in that chair he thinks I got
what I paid for! Just you wait and see how cute it will be Mr. Little Brown House!!!
The bookcase was $7, a little high but I really wanted it. The lights were from Habitat
and it was $17 for both. Now remember, you have to look through the brassiness
and tackiness of all of this to see the amazing potential that I, the great ar-tist, will draw from
the pieces… Or if they flop you will never see them again..
Yesterday I went to the mall with my friend Retta. I will have to do a post on Retta – she
requires an entire post to be explained.. Anyway – we had a blast! And let me tell you
birthday money + gift cards + clearance = great deals!!
Thinking the glass canister looks a little out of place in this grouping? Well, it is a little
chunky for a necklace – but I am all about trends in fashion..
I really scored on jewelry at Forever 21 -
I have always been a jewelry purist and only worn real sterling silver. Isn’t funny how that
purist thing can change with the economy??? Lately I have been wanting to get some gold,
and I certainly am not getting this much or this big of items in real gold!! You know, I guess
I kind of do represent the poor white trash! And I kinda like it – I think us trashy people have
fun in life – especially when we go forth and conquer a store. (or dumpster dive!)
The ring on the left edge of the photo that has the $7.99 tag on it was the most
expensive piece I got. And I had to get it because it was very similar to the one
Pioneer Woman wore when she was on The View last week – except hers was yellow.
Yes, I am pathetic….. we have established that..
If you have made it to the end of this post – you deserve a prize.. I know I haven’t
shown any cool new crafts or a great recipe. It’s just a day in the life. Thanks
for letting me share it with you!

I’m so jealous! I adore the chair! Yes I am a self proclaimed/confessed CHAIR ADDICT! I do not want a 12 step program whether needed or not!! I’m really wanting to makeover a light fixture into a mock chandelier for my two girlies
Can’t wait to see what you do! HUNT ON SISTER!

I, like you, like to advertise the bargains that I get. If i buy something expensive then I don’t tell anyone the price! This drives my husband batty…not to mention my kids. Joni
