Weight Watchers Friendly- Lo Cal Smoothie!

Yes – you are at the right place. This is The Little Brown House. I know you are not

used to seeing the words “Lo-Cal” go with anything in my posts!

But with all the Tasty Tuesday fun I have been having the last couple of months, I find

myself needing to lose about 8 pounds! Yes – I did just blame that on my blog.. it is totally

my blogs fault. It wasn’t me that kept putting food in my mouth.. nope – it was all the blog.

So last week I went back on Weight Watchers online, and I am counting my points. I am allowed

19 points per day – which is about one small Dairy Queen blizzard.. dang….

I am trying to eat things that are low in points (calories) but filling. So I have been making these

smoothies to take to work every day. It is my own combo, you can adjust to use just about any

frozen or fresh fruit. I add 1/2 scoop of soy protein to mine, it is not only nutritious

it also helps you feel full longer. And that become very important when you feel like you are starving!

Here are the ingredients:

This Tropicana juice is my new favorite thing! It has half the calories and no

artificial sweetener, and tastes absolutely amazing! Super low in points –

I start with 1/2 cup of the juice – and put it in my handy dandy Magic Bullet blender-

Then I add 1/2 to 3/4 cup frozen peaches:

And about 1/2 cup frozen blueberries:

Mine are quite frozen and icy!

Then I slice 1/2 banana into the blender-

I top it all off with 1/2 scoop protein powder -

This is a cool artistic shot by the way – not a bad picture.. remember that..

Then I blend the livin daylights out of it-

Pop quiz – where the heck does that phrase come from? Anyone?

I gotta tell you ladies (and men) this stuff is good! No added sugar, nothing but fruit.

The pomegranite and blueberry juice gives it an amazing burst of taste, and

the protein and fruit give it just a little bit of texture.

It fills you up and satisfies your sweet tooth all in one!

And it even looks pretty!

Of course – this is not how I take it to work every day..

I make it up the night before and put it in this container,

then I freeze it and pop it in my bag the next morning.

I am usually looking for a snack around 10 or 11 every morning -

and by then this is slushy and oh so good!!

And by my calculations it is about 2 ww points. Not bad at all for a snack!

I plan on sharing my Weight Watchers recipes with you on occasional

Tasty Tuesday’s – I will make a catagory for them to make them easier to find if you are interested.

Hope you enjoyed the recipe! Let me know what you think if you make it for yourself-

And please check out these other fun parties!
