Big Sky Country
I have been away for a couple of days to the great State of Montana.
I took 340 pictures there, so you may expect to see a couple of posts
about my time there! I do have a disclaimer regarding the posts.
(I know, they aren’t even written yet and already I am making excuses!)
It may seem that I am, on occasion poking some fun at that
great state. It will only seem that way because I am…
But – just like siblings tease each other, I , being from the just as
easy to poke fun at neighboring state of Idaho, am allowed.
As most of you know, I love Pioneer Woman (there is a link to her blog in
my sidebar, and here are my rendition of her fabulous Apple Dumplings.)
When she goes on one of her many book tour trips, she always photographs
her fabulous hotel room. So I felt I should show you ours.
Please, try not to writhe with jealousy.
And let me tell you, Mr. Little Brown House didn’t think it was very funny
when I asked him which bed he wanted.. or when he found out
my Mom was in the adjoining room..
Anyway.
Montana is known as “Big Sky Country”. The sky seriously looked the
same size to me. Maybe because I live in the state next door?
Could some of you look at the sky in your state and tell me how big it is?
Now I would understand if they called it “Big Mountain Chain Country” but
I suppose that doesn’t flow off the tongue as well. Can you imagine looking
out your door every morning and seeing the Rockies? Well, some of you
probably do – apparently they are a rather large mountain range,
but I don’t get out much.
Isn’t it just breathtaking?
We found on our trip that Montana has lots of tourist traps shops,
and an interesting approach to road construction. They have lots of
animals and really like to market their poop.(The animals poop silly)
Stay tuned for exciting upcoming posts!! And thanks for listening
to my constant drivel…. in the words of PW
“I love ya more than my luggage”

I simply cannot get enough of those mountains – I stopped in pretty much the same places as you did and took pictures of those mountains – breathtaking.

Honey I spent a year right outside of Glacier National Park in Whitefish Moaningtana. I absolutely loved it. I loved the moose poop and the fact that deer came right up to my back door during the winter. Oh and did I mention the black bear that hang out in the tree outside my bedroom window. I loved being up there. It was so conducive to my writing. Now that I’m back in LA, LA land not so much.

I am pretty sure Montana is one of the top 10 of the most beautiful places on earth! Idaho is also but am partial to MT I spose since most all my family was born and raised there and I spent all my summers and a few Christmas’ as a kid there! Your first photo has to be the St. Regis gift shop, eh? Is the church photo in Paradise,MT? All the lakes are the best as is Big Mountain in Whitefish…ski, ski, ski water and snow! Looking out of Grandmas dining room window is the rocky mountain range…I have always been in awe of their greatness!
Would love to see more of your Longaberger collection…I, too, have been a consultant for 16 years although haven’t done anything much for the past 6 years. Vicci
