Welcome to The Little Brown House

Year in Review

It was so much fun going back through my first year with this blog

and choosing my top 10 projects. I have learned a lot about blogging in the past year,

and also completed a lot of fun projects! I hope you enjoy

looking through them again with me!

One of my first projects of 2010 was making these family name signs

out of used cabinet doors. I still love them! And they cost around $5 each!

Family Name Sign

I had so much fun making these wall hangings out of a rubber floormat,

artists canvas, and spray paint! Go see how I did it!

Doormat To Wall Art

In the spring I entered the Living With Lindsey’s Dollar Store Challange,

this was my favorite of the projects I made!

Dollar Store Romantic Wall Art

I had a lot of suprised readers when I showed them the console I made

for my entryway out of a Goodwill headboard!

Headboard to Console

This was my most viewed post this year. I love finding new things to do with coffee filters!

Coffee Filter Wreath

I redid the colors in my living room this year – starting with this plate display on the wall.

Hanging Plate Wall

I shared many recipes this past year – this was one of my favorites!

Bundt O Sin

Yet another project with an old cabinet door –

and Dollar Store vinyl!

Serving Tray

I started participating in The Pleated Poppy’s What I Wore Wednesday -

from the perspective of a grandma trying to look as young as I feel!

They have been some of my most popular posts!

Not Your G-Ma’s Wardrobe

I was blessed with two new grandchildren this year!

So I made a few projects geared for children.

It has been an amazing year! I have had so much fun working on

things and sharing them with you here! Thank you so much for your comments

and encouragement – I look forward to getting to know you better!

And thank you for stopping in every week to see what is going on at

The Little Brown House!

I hope you have a blessed New Year!

I missed all of the projects! I wish I had become a fan of your blog earlier! I love the cabinet door projects. My brother in-law worked for a cabinet place and I always thought it was such a waste to just throw them out!! Great ideas and beautiful work!

You have done some amazing projects. I love the tray made with the cabinet door.

Of course you know I think you are very stylish. In fact, I think you should not think of yourself as a grandma ‘trying’ to look young and stylish. You are!!

Really love that headboard/hall table conversion…but I love all black furniture!
Isn’t blogging the best ;) Enjoyed your recap and found you via Southern Hospitatlities link party. I’ve been blogging for three years and this is the first re-cap post that I’ve completed and it really makes you appreciate all that you accomplish in a year. Best wishes for the New Year. Fondly, Roberta
