Glammed Up With Wainscoting -
Welcome to “how I spent my weekend” !
This weekend my husband and I put up wainscoting on our hallway.
Well, he put it up and I painted it. We are a team after all, right?
I am so stunned at what a change it made. I can’t believe how a little wood
and paint can transform an area. If only I could do that with myself!
We purchased the wainscoting in panels at Home Depot. They were $20 apiece,
we used four. We also spent about $40 on the trim, and $20 on paint.
So the total price for this complete revamp was about $140 dollars, and a Saturday.
I only have one before picture and one during – lots of afters!
I also made the sunburst mirror last night to include in the photo shoot.
I have been wanting to make one ever since I saw The Nester’s post on it.
It is pretty simple and cost around $6. All you need is white poster board,
a mirror, and some black foam board. You can find my tutorial here:
Now, here is a picture of my hallway before -
The trim is badly in need of painting! The carpet on the floor is really not installed, just laying there.
Underneath is the old wood floor that came with the house. You can see some of it at the end.
Here it is Saturday morning. My husband is using the hammer gun, I am painting, and the
dog is downstairs hiding behind the dryer… he hates home improvement.
I have my website up on my laptop for effect – I actually put up a Netflix movie!
Now – all of the afters! I still haven’t put any furniture back in at the end of the hall.
I haven’t decided what I want there yet. My husband hates to have to much blocking the area.
Isn’t that gorgeous!!! I need to shine up the floor a little bit, but of course I couldn’t wait to post!
I have to say I love that sun burst!!
So – there it is, short and sweet!
Tell me what you think!
Thanks so much for coming by -
