White Charger Tablescape

I have been having a love affair with neutral colors for the past year or so..

Maybe “affair” is too strong of a word, but I have certainly been crushing on them.

Lately I have been seriously drawn to white.

So when I saw these white wood chargers from Pier One on Pinterest -

(From a post by MyRepurposedLife,)

I knew I had to have them!

I had to order them back in May, and they finally came in this week!

I am so in love with them – they were $12 each, so kind of expensive

but there are so many things I can do with them besides just tablesettings.

So after I picked them up today, I decided to do a tablescape to show you how cute

they are. And to show you the one area in my house that hasn’t been hit with

the “neutral” bug – the small dining area off my kitchen. It is primarily red and yellow.

I just love the crisp white with the saturated reds.

I also love the shabby chic look of the distressed wood.

I am using some old placemats from Longaberger -

I don’t generally use placemats anymore, I tend to prefer the look of a runner.

But I love the fabric of these. The other side is a muslin with lace appliqués.

The plain red plates are also from Longaberger.

The red and gold flatware is a set I got at Target during their 75% off Christmas clearance

a few years ago – love those clearance sales!

Both the Ruby Red Goblets and the white Rooster were items I purchased on Ebay.

I picked some of the Peonies from our yard to add to the table.

I so love those flowers!

The chargers also go well in my dining area with my blue things -

I really love the subdued, soft, look of this combination.

Hope you enjoyed the table -

Thank you for coming by!

I have three of those chargers myself, Sharyl! I fell in love with them and my Pier 1 had three the day I went so I bought all of them. I use one as a cloche base and it’s usually just hubby and I so the two work. They’d probably also work good for a wall display {which I had considered}. They are expensive at $12.00 each, but they seem to go quickly! Love your dishes and the silverware. I should check out some of those clearance sales as I’d love to get a second set. I don’t know why I never think to look at silverware in the clearance section.

Beautiful! $12 isn’t awful, considering all you can do with them and how long they will *hopefully* last!
