Tweet And Eat – Sweet!

I often get asked how I am able to do it all. I work outside the home 40 to 45 hours a week. I am

a part time blogger who would love to be full time. I work on crafts and home projects on a

weekly basis. I also cook and clean and take care of my home, my husband, and son.

And in my spare time I travel twice a year
to Bolivia to drive a transient herd of Alpacas to the Peruvian border………
We share hair tips -

Alpaca headshot (Wikipedia Creative Commons.)

Ok fine, I may have exaggerated the last part to appeal to my Peruvian readers….
All of this keeps me pretty busy… So – what is the secret to my success?
Caffeine? Chocolate? Hair Spray? All these things certainly play a part…
But the truth is, my biggest help is technology. In the words of Napoleon Dynamite’s older brother Kip -”I love technology…..always and forever.”
Good or bad, love it or hate it, we are surrounded on every side by technology. We can either embrace it, or say goodbye to everything and go live in one of those underground houses – in a remote place – like Idaho.. where the deer and the antelope play..
Could be fun.
But I choose to embrace technology. I do everything online.. I pay bills, do my banking, buy my clothes, talk with friends, store and edit my pictures and Skype with the grandkids.. I use the internet on a daily basis to keep me organized. That is why, when Samsung told me about their new, life changing refrigerator I couldn’t wait to check it out! Where? Online of course!

Be. Still. My. Heart…
It has Wi-Fi….. tweet and eat…….sweet!

Did you just hear the angels singing? Cause I sure did!
This is not your G-Ma’s refrigerator.. in fact, this isn’t even your Mom’s refrigerator!
Isn’t she lovely? And gleaming?!
And large.. you could fit an Alpaca into this thing ……..
There is even an extra drawer in the middle with different temperature zones!
Zones! Who knew?
Just look at some of the other features;
Refrigerator Features
  • Refrigerator Capacity: 16.3 cu. ft.
  • Surround Air Flow
  • 2 Humidity Controlled Crispers
  • 5 Tempered Glass Spill Proof Shelves
  • 1 Door Bin on Right Door
  • LED Lighting

FlexZone Drawer

  • FlexZone Capacity: 4.0 cu. ft.
  • Easy Open Handle™
  • 4 Temperature Zones with Smart Dividers:
    - Meat / Fish (29°F)
    - Cold Drinks (33°F)
    - Deli / Snacks (37°F)
    - Wine / Party Dishes (42°F)
  • Freezer Features
  • Freezer Capacity: 7.7 cu. ft.
  • Easy Open Handle™
  • 1 Drawer Divider
  • In-Door Pizza Pocket
  • LED Lighting

But, let’s be honest – they had me at Wi FiCan you imagine – A fridge with Apps?
This could make life even more efficient in my home.. The refrigerator happens to be the one thing in the house that the whole family interacts with every day. Which is why it is the best spot for communication with each other. And in my house, it often is one of the hardest spots to find. Always completely covered with notes, phone numbers, christmas pictures, etc. stuck on with magnets of every shape and color… in a word – tacky.  If I leave a family note on top of that mess, it likely won’t be read for months.. Well, now you can leave notes for each other and display your family pictures all without covering up one inch of this gleaming appliance!  You can also look up recipes and and even check out your weather and news! All of this on a Wi Fi enabled 8 inch screen- Now that is what I call an efficient, time saving, not to mention uncluttered, appliance! It could help me with meal preparation and polishing off the items on my task list- all in one shot!  And then, maybe I could even wind up with time to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation with the hubby as we listen to romantic music being played. On the refrigerator of course……… and isn’t making time for that exactly why we want to become more efficient in the first place?!!!!

Sigh….time for romance? Or even coffee and conversation?

Finally, there’s an app for that…

Now – if it only had an app that would change the toilet paper roll…

If you could invent an appliance that could solve your most annoying problem, what would that be?

I want something to clean my toilets for me. Now, I know there are those automatic toilet bowl cleaners and all, but they will not suffice.
You have no idea the horrors my two preschool aged boys do to my toilets.

THANKS for my Monday morning laugh!! This has nothing to do with winning a gift card, I just had to tell you I’m still laughing about the Bolivian trip with the Alpacas! You look NOTHING like an Alpaca! I needed a laugh on this CRAZY Monday morning. I’m envious of you to be so up on all this electronic technology, I have to rely on my hubby to help me with almost everything, which always creates other problems! So you go girl!!!

OK, now here’s something totally doable for Samsung. Make that refridgerator sel-cleaning! I absolutely abhor wiping down the inside of the fridge. I can go through it and chuck all of the science experiments with mold on them or items that have long since expired. But wipe it down? Nope. Unless we are moving of course.

There would be an arm that reaches out of the washer and loads the clothes from the basket or floor! Then the washer turns on automatically. There would be a tunnel between the washer and dryer and the clothes get automatcally shoved between the W&D and the dry cycle put on – you guessed it – AUTOMATICALLY!

It would be just like the Jetson’s cartoon :)

The appliance I would most love to own is a robot that can clean the house, do the laundry, fix meals, wash the dishes and do other household chores as needed. I’ve already told my husband, the minute this robot comes out, I’m going to buy one … I don’t care how much it costs!!!! And if he has any complaint about that, he can always be replaced by RoboHusband — the robot that mows the lawn, cleans the garage, fixes the car and does other manly chores!!!

But after looking again at that magnificent refrigerator magnificence, I would love it if they would make that fridge with an automatic sensor that sensed what items you’re frequently low on in the fridge (i.e. the normal milk, veggies, etc.) and automatically notifies the market you frequent and they have it ready or delivered after receiving the order from the fridge!

I have a Samsung washer and dryer that I *love*, so if I won a Best Buy gift card, as long as it had no expiration, I would hide it from the hubby and save it until my other fridge died (or, since it’s only about 2 years old, I couldn’t stand it anymore) and use that gift card toward the purchase of that Samsung fridge! By then, hopefully the kinks will have been worked out (I read some less-than-completely-in-love reviews).

Mine is a child locking feature for a refrigerator. This is be a HUGE hit for me. Meaning you can push a button that locks the fridge so little kiddos like mine can’t open the doors, break the shelves, waste food and energy, and more. :)
It would be nice if it had a feature that let me know when items are expiring, what I am low on, and had easy to clean shelves.

The fridge, the fridge that can keep tally (crazy i know — don’t think a computer on the planet can keep up with my family of 8!)of what is in the fridge, grocery list, recipe list to match the grocery list, coupons/sales for the stores I initially input and match those sales to my list, a list of favorites for each of the family members…

    OR
A self cleaning stove top — lord have mercy, you should see what my family can do to my stovetop!

    OR
yeah, can we seriously see about a self filling toilet paper roll thingy — cause you know one of the OTHER 7 individuals in this house some how forgets to put up a roll, or there are no ‘extras’ in the drawer and mom, that would be me, come in and yeah… well I’m sure you know where i am going with this….

I need a refrigerator that reminds me of what is in it! So tired of throwing out food that I’ve forgotten is in there and couldn’t see! I think winning this would certainly sove that problem. Seems like you can see everything in it and if not can leave a list on the screen. How perfect.

I would like a washing machine that automatically washed and dryed the clothes. The user (me) would place soiled laundry in appropriate bins. When a bin held a full load, the machine would add the pre-set laundry additives for that bin and empty the bin into the washer. The clothes would wash at a pre-dtermined cycle for that particular bin. When the clothes were washed, the machine would proceed to dry the clothes according to the pre-set cycle for that bin. The machine would then send a text to the user (me) a few minutes before the clothes have completely dried so I can be there to hang them up or fold them.

My dream appliance is a refrigerator that tells you if you have stuff in it that’s going to go bad; one that senses when you put something in it and asks you when that item should be cleaned out. And then reminds you when that date is near or passed. I would name her Bridgette the Fridgette. I imagine our conversation would go something like this…

“Bon jour, Jenni! Cherie, do you remember that pate’ you placed on my shelf last week? You will need to use it by tomorrow.”

“Oh, merci, Bridgette. You’re the best!”

    “No, you are, darling!”

    “I know.” le sigh

Oh, how wonderful that would be.
