Birthday Cupcakes..
One year ago last week, grandbaby number 5 entered the world.
Lydia Grace
I made cupcakes for her baby shower – you can find the recipe by clicking on this link:
I actually devoted 3 posts to these cupcakes….overkill, I know.
Are you surprised?
One of the posts was a tutorial on the cupcake stand I made from Dollar Store items.
We had her birthday party today, and I decided it was only fitting
for me to make cupcakes again.
I used the same recipe I used in the above post, omitting the lemon.
I chose not to make filled cakes this time. Just getting old and tired I guess..
I decided to go with a chocolate buttercream frosting this time – you know, for the kids..
I used a recipe that I found at Savory Sweet Life
I was very pleased with the recipe!
Of course I am seldom displeased with chocolate…
I added some sprinkles and cute cupcake wrappers,
and set them up all fancy-like on my glass cake pedestals.
Aren’t they cute!
Cupcakes just make me happy… I don’t know why..
Probably all the butter..
There is lots and lots of butter..
Butter is good for you, right?
I mean, it is natural and everything.. natural is good…
Mmmmmm……………
” I like cupcakes too Na-ma….”
Happy 1st Birthday Missy Boo!!

Lydia Grace is beautiful, Sharyl! She reminds me of my own Evalyse who was one in July. Same blonde hair that appears to be growing the same way in the front and then curly cues in the back. They can be quite the character at this age. Your cupcakes look delicious and you are right about them. I can’t even eat cupcakes anymore unless they are gluten free, yet one of the things I bought recently for my new kitchen is a print with cupcakes! It’s just such a great print and happy image for a kitchen I think.

One of the cutest photos of Lydia Grace I’ve seen – and the cupcakes look yummy. Did Lydia get to eat one all by herself and get messy? Cuz that would have been fun to see too!
