I am so excited to show you my Fall Mantel, or “Fantel” as we like to call it!

It was hard for me to decide how to decorate it this year. I was really happy with

the look I had for my mantel this spring/summer, and wasn’t sure I wanted to change it.

But then I started thinking about how to bring in some fall colors to my existing pallet.

I decided use white as the base again, but add in a color combination of pumpkin, blue, and gray.

I started with dual flower arrangements in white vases flanking the mantel.

Then I started looking around for some pumpkins or gourds.

I wanted to find a fun way to create one, and looked at many of them on Pinterest.

I really love the velvet stuffed pumpkins I saw there, but after seeing the price of velvet,

I decided to find a different look. I kept going back to the black and white ones I saw.

That should come as no surprise to you!

So I made up some quick little ones with a black lacy look. You can go check out the tutorial here:

Next I decided to put in some silver accents.

I used a mercury glass candle holder as a stand for one of the pumpkins.

Then I took a silver tray I got at an after Christmas sale at Michaels,

and cut out a black vinyl word “Thankful” and put it on it.

I really love the black, white, and silver together.

I have such a love of books, and I love to use them in my decor.

These are some old books that my mom gave me, and I like the way the

colors pull from the flowers I used. I also love the natty look and the typography.

I have a little silver acorn candle holder here to pull the silver over to this side.

I also placed a small dollar store silver framed mirror behind it.

I even gave a nod to hunting season by putting my chippy old duck decoy up there!

So, have you been getting your Fall on yet at your house?

I am ready to put on my boots and scarf and have some apple cider!!

I love that you didn’t go “halloween” already! I really like your fantel – very classic. I also love that your items have meaning when you decorate. And those lacy pumpkins – tutorial please!!!

I noticed the wording printed on your area rug, did you do that yourself? I have never seen one like that and would like to do something similar for our deck next summer.

Love your pumpkins in the stockings. Your fantel looks lovely. I really like the picture looking down on it. I am ready for boots, too.

Great job on your mantle. It looks so pretty. I love that you were able to use the white and mercury glass as opposed to swapping it all out for the fall colors we typically use. It came together so nicely.
