Not Your G-Ma’s… well, you know..
This is what was outside my window this afternoon.
You simply cannot appreciate the fury of the storm from this picture.
It was bad.. and cold.. and windy. And yes, I was a little bit whiny about the whole thing.
Especially when I saw my gas tank was on the big E.
But, I will put my despair aside temporarily to bring you my wardrobe post.
Because you are that important to me
Applaud if you feel the need.
I really <heart> this plum circle scarf!
One of the main reasons is because it is something of a no-brainer..
Which is handy, as I sometimes am without brain.
I want to point something out about this outfit.
These are my black boots. My old black boots.
My old $10 Walmart black boots.
Someone, who shall remain nameless, with the initials
Karrin
Left this in the comment section of last weeks wardrobe post.
“You have opened my eyes–I didn’t know you could own not one, not two,
but THREE pairs of black boots? How am I always the last to know?”
Karrin, Karrin, Karrin… I only have one pair of black boots.. the new ones.
The boots pictured above don’t count because they are old, and not even officially
still in my wardrobe. You know, because old things don’t really count.
And my other pair are obviously black-grey, which is practically the opposite of black..
I hope you have learned your lesson..
Yes, I am leaning toward black ensambles here.
But there is a great reason.
I got a new camera bag.
See! Doesn’t it all make sense now?
I thought so.
That will be all.
I love this grey long sweater that I got from Kohls-
It keeps the hind quarters vicinity of my body warm.
If I had one of those uber posh cars with heated seats I might not
need it… Maybe I wouldn’t have to get out and put gas in the car either..
In a blizzard.
But I am not bitter.
This was me today. Please excuse the grainy picture..not enough sunshine.
I don’t know if you were aware, but we have been having something
of a blizzard here today.
Look at me..On the day it starts snowing I choose to forgo my boots..
I would refer you back to the no-brainer comment at the top of this post.
These are my favorite jeans (ZCO) - you know, the ones I usually wear around 5.1 times
a week? I haven’t worn them in a while because I have been all into my skinny jeans
and boots. Well, some of you may remember my near death experience last month-
“What do you mean I can’t wear makeup in Surgery??”
Apparently the itty bit 4 pounds I lost in that episode made a difference when it
came to these pants. They are low-rise. Not too low, just mid low..
This morning as I was walking from my car into the church building where I work,
they started becoming more low rise… I of course, had a bag on each shoulder.
(both matched my outfit perfectly)
Gloves, keys, my water – all in my hands. I believe I was holding my glasses too.
As I kept walking, the pants kept getting lower.
I think my cell phone was in my mouth too.
This is a church building… did I mention that?
I tried to expand my hips to hold the jeans up till I made it inside,
but those jeans were determined to slip down.
I looked like a gang member without the tats….
I finally dropped 3 very expensive Apple/Mac electronic items into the
12 feet of snow that had fallen durring my walk from my car to the door,
(Did you know we had a blizzard?) and used one hand to hitch up my pants.
It was a treat to watch, I tell ya. I was looking pretty smooth.
Ok – does sharing this count as my act of courage this week?
My word of the year is courageous, after all ;=)
Ok – that is it for my wardrobe..
Well, one more thing.
The high point of my day today was pulling up to our mailbox which was buried
under 25 feet of snow.. and finding a package addressed to me.
It was something I ordered- either from Groupon or Heartsy,
I forget which..
Isn’t it too stinkin adorable!
Don’t worry – I have the website that it came from..
Hope you all have a good week, keep those low riders high!!

If it makes you feel any better in your suffering, we’re getting the storm in Ontario tonight. The outfits are cute though. ~ Maureen

This has to be the funniest post ever. By the way I did notice the blizzard, not that we have any snow here in VA. I started laughing about Karrin and the boots, then continued laughing as you struggled to the car, with snow coming down at record rates and your jeans, too. hahaha And only 4 pounds did that? I’d need to lose about 40 before my jeans would even think about slipping past my hips. Glad you made it inside without a crack (get it?). Laughing again.

You are a hoot! Love your outfits this week! I’m in Ohio – it is cold, snow on the ground and I would love to wear sweaters! But, my office (in a school) is 77 degrees! Crazy! I do the jeans, but have to wear short sleeves. The heat is due to 3 copiers running all day! Alas, my sweaters sit in the drawers until the weekend!

I would deal with all of the snow and ice and dropping things if it meant my jeans were too big.
Celebrate!!

First, great necklace, Sharyl! If I don’t say it now I will forget. I love to layer in the winter, too. I have 3 pairs of black boots, too! Well, one is black and grey, with pom poms tied in front {even though there is a zipper on the side}. They are faux tied pom poms. Those are my Nanuck of the North boots; then skinny high heel boots and finally, square med. heeled boots. I’m ready for anything!
Love that rosette sweater you got! That first outfit is one I would be very comfortable in myself. A non-bulky top, jeans and the sweater over it. Love it! Okay, let’s see your snow shoveling boots now. : )

Would now be a good time to admit that I own 2 pairs of black boots (one tall, one short), tall tan boots, tall brown boots, tall olive green boots, short red boots, and super warm Sorel boots for the winter that finally came to Michigan? With all of that, I still want grey boots! Fasion means never saying you’re sorry for wanting more of the same thing in a different color, right?
I laughed, I blushed, I almost wet myself reading your post today! And that plum circle scarf is gorgeous! What a great color on you (and me hopefully, if I can find it in my neck of the woods). Thank you so much for braving the Great Blizzard to bring us our entertainment for the week. You go above and beyond for your readers!

What a great read to start the day—too funny!
You look great—-as always! Love the belted, long grey sweater on you! I’m off to see if I can create that look from my closet.
Have a blessed day!

Ahhhh…the love of boots. I have a tad too much love me thinks for boots.
Greatest post ever by the way…LOVE outfit #2 (they were all fantastic but #2 is my fav) and stay safe/warm in the blizzard. We’re all just a tad jealous here in Michigan of you all out there getting the snow we’ve yet to get *boo*.

So cute! The pop of the white shirt in the last outfit is really nice, to me. I totally love the new necklace and YES! we have snow here too, and I went nuts with impractical shoes anyway.

I’ve always heard “Wear nice undies in case of an accident” but never considered, in case your pants fall off! Lol ;D
You continue to crack me up! Glad your pants didn’t fall off at the gas station.
Always love the outfits, but especially love the long grey sweater. You do look as though you’ve lost some weight. I lose weight reading your blog because laughing burns calories…Keep up the good work, skinny!
