Not Your G-Ma’s Wardrobe!

Hi friend!

You know how you have those friends that you haven’t seen in awhile, but when

you get together you pick right up again where you left off?

Yeah – that is what this is, ok?

I can’t even tell you how much I have missed you… CAN’T EVEN!

For those of you who are new:

Hello! My name is Sharyl, and I am a Grandma of 7 who does

not want to have my style defined by my age.

The outfit I am sharing today has a few of my favorite components.

I purchased this dress/tunic last year at Ross ($16.99) .

It is knit, and I love the colors. I absolutely love combining brown

and black  (something I used to view as a big no-no)

and with the added white and grey, it makes for a super versatile piece.

The jean jacket – another staple piece in my wardrobe – is from Kohls.

Mudd Distressed Jean Jacket

The boots are from Target – I got them with a Christmas gift card (always fun!)

And they have quickly become my favorites. They work really well with jeans either

tucked in or rolled up – so cute!

Mossimo Leather Boot

Now – the tunic is a bit short to wear without leggings or jeans, so I came

up with a little fix of my own. This is especially good for those of us who

are a bit older and don’t want to wear super short skirts 😉

I purchased an elastic waste lightweight tiered skirt that I wear underneath

a couple of my shorter dresses and tops. I absolutely LOVE it! It helps

me feel more comfortable in my outfit, and I love the little bit of sass it adds..

The best part is, I bought this on Amazon for only $11.99!

And free shipping with Prime! I love me some Amazon Prime..

Vintage Tiered Chiffon Skirt

The last thing I want to mention is my necklace – I adore it..

It has my Word Of The Year on it –

Set Free.

Yes, I realize that is two words.. work with me.

I got it from an adorable Etsy Store called

Little Lighthouse

Sooo – there you have it! My wardrobe post for the week.. and my first post in how long??

(Shhh –  never ask a lady about her weight or her age )

Thanks so much for visiting me!

And if you have any tips or ideas to share, please leave a comment!

You know I love to hear from Ya’ll  ;0)

(And just an FYI – I get nothing from the links I placed above, just trying to share the info!)

Yay! You’re back, so nice to hear from you again! I’m totally with you on the not wanting to dress like a granny, yet I’m not quite sure how to dress without looking like I’m trying to look 20-something. I believe it’s a delicate balance, and you look great! I love boots!

Yay! So glad you’re back. Love the outfit, I have those boots! Wore them today in fact. I am going to have to find a comfy jean jacket, mine is from Gap and is too stiff and boxy. Yours is so cute!

So fun to have you back again! You are the one who introduced me to TJ Maxx, as I recall. I had never even heard of it but you had purchased something from there and I went that very week!

Love your hair (so cute) and that skirt is a clever idea. I am not a grandma yet, but I AM in my 50’s and I don’t want to go too short!

I look for you ever so often. I was thrilled to see you on What I wore Wednesday! Nobody said anything, but you look like you have lost a lot of weight. I never thought you were over weight by any means, but you do look great!
Way cute boots and I love what you did by adding the skirt. I have a few tunics that I love, but feel they are too short for this “Nani” to sport with leggings alone.
Take care and come back for good, please!
